Salangi Legacy is a United States Army Veteran Business Motivator/Consultant who has helped companies obtain over 5 million in revenue year after year. She is a Coach, Mentor, Image and Beauty Consultant, Insurance Agent, Business Owner, Author, and most importantly a Human Rights Supporter for all people. Salangi is always promoting positive spirit, personal growth and unity in all Communities through writing, radio, advertisement, fundraising, gift giving and strong positive events.
Born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Houston, TX, she is the mother of two daughters, Sojourner Jelisa & Mia Antoinette and the proud grandmother of Isaiah Zachariah and London McKenzie. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and an MBA from Texas Southern University. She has 13 years of military experience: 4 years active and 9 years reserves.
She traveled the world before the age of 22 playing basketball for the US Army Women’s Basketball Traveling Team; before there was an WNBA! This sparked her passion for traveling abroad and understanding different cultures of the world. She has visited many countries and lived in various states. She has worked for major companies, as well as owned companies; such as, The Legacy Image, Ignalas Solutions, and etc.
Salangi received her undergraduate degree at the age of 40 and received her Masters at the age of 46. In the 80’s & 90’s, this was considered backwards by many; as getting a degree after raising your children was virtually unheard of. Contrary to stereotypes and traditions, she strongly believed that she needed to accomplish these educational milestones for her children. In doing so, she is proud to be seen and called a role model by her children. She is one of the first to receive a degree in her family and she greatly encouraged her children to do the same and it has paid off. Her youngest daughter, Mia, landed a 6-year contract on the “Godfather of Harlem” just two months after graduating from Yale graduate program.
Salangi has assisted in several noteworthy fundraisers and self-awareness projects in the Greater Houston Area. Her Annual Christmas Charity Event, The Scrooge Gathering, collects unused gifts for re-gifting and new personal items to give to the elderly who are without loved ones during the holidays. She has also served on multiple boards throughout the years, including the Houston Chamber of Commerce as Vice President of Membership. Salangi Legacy also is constantly bringing awareness to female veterans about their rights and benefits through the Veterans Administration.
Over the years, she has gained invaluable insights into an array of workforce environments enabling her to decipher and glean best practices for running successful businesses and projects As an ever evolving, entrepreneur who readily draws from her archives of professional experiences, Salangi has learned and implements the business principle that great organizational structure provides consistent systems that safeguards, encourages and allows efficiency and retention amongst co-workers in any organization, therefore manifesting an environment that is conducive to excellence and growth.
Salangi always looks forward to the future and is “LOVING THE JOYS OF LIFE”
